Lightwave 2018.04 freezing for 5-8 seconds

Hi Everyone, I am using Lightwave 2018.04 on windows 10 and Lightwave layout freezes when I leave to use another application. When I clicks back onto layout there is a 5-8 second delay before I can start working again.

Has anyone else come across this problem. I have put a bug report in, so hopefully it will get sorted.

Just tried this out with another app on same screen and also on second screen, no freeze here on Mac.

    Loose guesses...
*Check Task Manager to see if the delay is due to low RAM and overflow writing to disk.
    *Video drivers up-to-date?
*Firewall open for business on Layout/Hub/Modeler?

Agreed, this is the most likely culprit.

@Tonyhall007: What's the memory consumption for Layout (according to Task Manager) when this is occurring?

Yes. It doesn't happen all the time. Something that I have discovered that seems to possibly cause it is changing content directory mid project. For instance when you are working on a project from one directory and then you need to render something up quick from another project. - You will probably have issues once you go back to your original project. The thing that seems to get it out of this funk is to close Modeler, Layout and the Hub and then start Layout but when starting Modeler be sure and start it from within Layout - not from your start menu or desktop.

Ok, when this happens, kill Modeler and then try hopping from Layout to another app, is it any better ?

I had the same problem on Win7, the update of the GTX drivers helped

I always start with updating GPU drivers, the latest ver. LW are released under the latest drivers ... I think so
    Good luck

You may need to find a latency checker. Run it for a while, and take a look at what process is being laggy. Then, find out what it belongs to, and update it, if you can. I had some severe latency issues, and discovered that it was my NIC drivers from Microsoft causing the issue. Replaced 'em with the manufacturer's drivers, and everythings been solid.
