The default Perspective viewport camera location is directly along the Z axis.
--Kinda pointless.
I suggest that the default location of the viewport camera be along a vector described by 1/1/-1, to give the user an IMMEDIATE sense of perspective, rather than the orthogonal-ish view currently presented.
OR, give the user control and let them enter a unit vector in the DISPLAY OPTIONS panel.
