But even without the update, it IS pretty nice to provide such a powerful suite of tools based on such innovative technology completely free - right?

As it happens, I did get a chance to ask about this yesterday. I was told that it was announce that 3.5 would be released shortly after NAB, and that this remains true. I suppose it depends on your view of what "shortly" or "soon" means. (My impression is that there is might still be a little work underway to improve feature parity for various platforms, but I could be entirely wrong about that so kindly don't depend on it.)

That's great news Steve. I was going to offer to send you a map to the right people to bump into. I am glad you finally filed through that chain on your leg to get away from your desk. Next time use a dremel.

Thank you for tools. They rock.
Shortly or soon I look forward to implementing the new tool kit into my work flow.

Looking forward for the update too.
Maybe there’s a chance to apply for its testing if its taking too long for the release?

Anything? Two months are not that “shortly after the event” now

I'm going to go out on a limb and say VERY soon. (I'm sooooo going to hate myself if it winds up delayed for any reason.)

I'd guess Monday then, even NewTek isn't crazy enough to release a bunch of major updates on a Friday... right?

    Come and get it, y'all.

p.s., please do not forget that some tools in the Windows suite require Windows 8.1 or better (off the top of my head, I think this applies to the new Studio Monitor and Scan Converter; maybe Virtual Input, too) ... so some of you will want to hang onto your older installers and install 'selectively'.

When I try to load Virtual Camera, it says the drivers will now be installed. I hit ok. Then there is a driver error that says "Unable to load kernal driver (audio), restart computer. If this fails then please re-install. (Verify that secure boot is disabled so that driver can be installed.)".

I tried restarting and re-installing. I just want to confirm, do I have to actually disable secure boot? I've never done that so I just want to make sure it is absolutely necessary.
