    Some companies do it.
Preorder now you get the current version and get the latest version when it comes out in a few weeks.
So I would like to preorder. Bought a few upgrades this way.

And then some companies are generous enough to customers who upgraded to say last dec 5 but were not aware the latest is coming out jan 1.
Those companies won't charge you again you just bought it less than a month ago. Customer service

I'm pretty sure the upgrade price is from ANY version of LW, as far as I'd guess... so, if you're on an old version, might it be $295 from v11 too? Someone from Newtek please chime in if I'm wrong.
Ohhh... you aren't even on 2015.3.
It's been really good version for me, solid as a rock, and although it crashes occasionally it doesn't even half as much as 3ds Max.

So, skipping upgrades doesn't matter ? You want the latest version anyway ? For free ? People who did stay current did support development.
What about you ? Talk about generous. HAAAHAAAHA....

That's not my question in my previous post.

If I upgrade one of my old lightwave license to lightwave 2015 now, do I get 2018 when it comes out?
I have lw 2015. I want one of my other licenses which is an older version to be upgraded. If I do now and get lw 2015 now for that license, do I get lw 2018 when it comes out.

I posted and explained(wish I can speak slowly in a text forum) for the old folks around here.

If anyone is wondering why I want to do this, I don't really use newly released software when there are on going projects.
Another lw 2015 would be more useful for me. And lw 2018 will break a lot of lighting and shading for projects so I'll wait a few months before I use it.

    This is great!

The volumetric rendering quality seems very good.
