I just checked, and it turns out Spark does support ac - the spec doc was out of date, sorry.

Ah, that's so nice to hear. When all else fails, read the (most current) instructions!

    Thanks for following up.

Has the spark ever been tested over a wireless bridge? Which bandwidth options, if so?

We are going to buy a cable cam like a dactylcam or a photoship one flycam. My question is, Would it be practical to try the spark as the video transmitter with a directional high gain antenna pointed down the cable? Instead of buying an $8000 wireless sdi system like a teradek or tomahawk.

What about PoE? And is there a possibility to camera mount the Spark?

The sparks do not support POE. Camera mounting it would require some type of third party mounting solution. I don't think it will be long before someone figures it out.

I'm picturing an artisinal line of 'Spark Sleeves' - leather, balllistic nylon, denim ... and velcro (highly preferable to duct tape in this scenario).

Already on it. So far we have 3 different mounting design prototypes.

I assumed that as soon as you saw this you would already have solutions on the works.
