    Sasquatch Problems...

I have an annoying problem with Sasquatch.

I can't get the underside of the character to darken up; Lighting is directly overhead, and I am using a spotlight's shadow maps to generate shadows.

    I've tried:
-Using a negative intensity point light; Sasquatch ignores the negative value, and clamps it at 0 (or so it appears).
-Added gMIL to the surface the fur generates from. No changes to the fur render.

The only thing that reliably works is shading it in GIMP as I composite the images together.

    Any suggestions?

From what I remember you may have to turn off self-illumination in Sasquatch.

Try increasing the Self Shadow to 95 or so percent. By default it's way too low.
Push the software, don't let it push YOU!

Thanks all for your tips; cranking the self shadow value up into the 90% range did the trick. Doubled the render times, too.
