With all these updates, I'm confused by what the functional/computational differences between Deep FX Studio 3 and Deep Rising FX 3 will be if we're a Lightwave user. Considering the early access to Studio 3 is only $99, is there an advantage in waiting and spending more for the LW integrated version?

Deep Rising FX is purely for simulations, and is integrated into Lightwave. If that's all you're interested in then that's the best choice. Its also been around more than 3yrs, so the code is mode stable.

Deep FX Studio will have the same simulation tools, plus rendering, basic modelling, keyframe animation, and a non destructive node workflow. The biggest difference for the simulation tools will be the optional procedural workflow in Deep FX Studio, and deeper integration of third party Libraries. The biggest reason Deep FX Studio exists is to create tools that go beyond any 3D packages SDK, because I have full control. So eventually Deep FX Studio will be able to do things Deep Rising FX cannot, due to limitations.

The pricing difference is mainly due to the fact Deep FX Studio is new, and isn't a proven product. If it succeeds and becomes popular the price will probably increase to reflect that.

Ah, OK. So for version 3 there's no big advantage in doing the sim in Studio and exporting to LW just to render.

Yes no advantages for exporting fluid simulations yet. But to can work in the opposite direction, export from Lightwave and use features exclusive to Deep FX Studio. I think Deep FX Studio will compliment Lightwave nicely.

Hello. The second day I study the plugin.. The function "Edit selected Rigid objects" does not work for me. I need to assign the same parameters to several dozen objects - I have to do it one by one.
When you try to add a filter DR Drag - LW immediately crashes.
When will the manual be updated? Will filters be added for the arena solver? Will the Wind filter be added?

For "Edit selected Rigid objects" you need to select the objects in the viewport, not in the domain. Otherwise it works even on version v2.5.

They are separate products (for example like Realflow and its integrated plugin). The difference here is Deep FX Studio has other tools beyond fluid simulations. The early access discount only applies to Deep FX Studio, while it's still in beta.

Whenever the beta ends, so undecided. But the discountable amount may change in the future.

Question: When I click on the Upgrade button, the screen says v2.0 Upgrade. I assume if I follow through, I'll actually get the v3.0 upgrade? I'll purchase as soon as this is confirmed. Also, what is the upgrade price?
