No video with HDMI to VGA/Component converter

We have a Tricaster 40 V2. We've switched our projector to HDMI, with HDMI coming from the media computer (iMac) and the pastor's MacBook. The video comes out of a Roland V-1HD switcher to a REI HD-102 HDMI splitter. One output from the splitter feeds the projector the other feeds the Tricaster. I've tried all the input formats, and taking the signal from these computers as well as a Toshiba Satellite C55-A5242 (laptop) and a Canon Vixia HF R700 camcorder. I only get a blue screen.

You didn't mention the brand/model of HDMI to Component converter, that will be helpful. Been some time since I've worked with a TC40, but pretty sure the component input MUST be 1080i, not 1080p. I think 720 is supported also.

    Thanks

The converter is an Altona. The inputs can be set for 1080i, 1080 30P, etc.
