The scaling problem is why I was looking for a POLYgon Normal Move a month ago. Point Normal Move would be the same issue, but POLYgon Normal Move would solve it.
Unfortunately, TMK it doesn't exist (and might be problematic w/Edges, you'd need some depth, most likely, depending on code).
Did anybody ever find one?

in the new video (above) you can see the solution, using Segment ScaleUnfortunately, TMK it doesn't exist
however, Segment Scale will only work in certain situations.

another option would be to actually just select the outer rime edge loop, and extend it in depth to give depth and polys, then select itīs polygons, select nth pattern extend without doing anything then use point normal move..and you will have them ok..I think jeric recognized that too, and if you want them flat back, just use volume select mode and in the top viewport as in this case ..and drag a rectangular marque and delete the thickness (soon we will have a true rectangular selection marque option in the next lightwave)
Edit..sorry ..a simple loop selection of points would be better to delete if you want it flatter again.
Note...a fun illusion I think, the end of the point normal move may seem slightly smaller, but I think that is an illusion
