    JL Cooper eBox interface

Does anyone have instructions on how to get a JL Cooper ebox to wok with 3Play? Both JLCooper's and NewTek's website state it will, but I find very little in the way of instructions. The manual has a couple of paragraphs but no details or steps. I'm trying to get a Ross Vision switcher RS422 trigger to activate a "Roll Video" macro on the 3Play.

The Workflow and Automation Guide has some instructions on how to set this up starting on page 18 (section 5.1.4)

I think you might have gotten that far. The only part of the JL Cooper unit that is supported is the GPI interfaces, the serial ports aren't use by TriCaster or 3PLAY. I think that might be your problem, RS-422 ports will send commands, what you need is a simple contact closure to trigger the JL Cooper unit.

Once you have GPI connected, you build the macro, select a trigger for it, then perform the GPI to assign the macro.

If you have a 3PLAY 440 or 4800, they also support the AMP protocol which some Ross switchers can use for control. You can find a bit more information about AMP in the same guide above, in section 7.3.

Thanks for all the additional info. I'll try the GPI option first as I know it's already used to control our Chyron from the switcher.
