    Advanced Edition question

Hi, what are the differents on a mini with AE and 460 with AE?

Tricaster is the best thing that i've used since I played with my atari

A 460 with AE is like having an 8000 with AE with 4 physical inputs and 4 MEs.

A mini is like having a 410 with AE so you don't have reentrant MEs, 4 channels virtual sets and a lot more... and your inputs/outputs are HDMI (unless you have an SDI mini with SDI inputs/outputs).

Mini with AE still has A and B inputs in M/E, but does add a second Keyer in each M/E.

    Thanks

TC460 with AE will have 4 DSKs and 4 Keyers in each ME with A,B,C,D layers. Also TC460 will support re-entry.

Mini (or TC410) with AE will have 2 DSKs and 2 Keyers in each ME with A,B layers. These models do not support re-entry.

I have a 455 Tricaster that I upgraded to a 460, which was a software only update. Will there be any thing that AE won't do on a machine like this or will a hardware upgrade be required for some functions?

    Thanks,
    Marty

You will get the same features on a 455>460 system as someone that purchased a 460 as new would get.

Thanks Kane, wasn't sure about that since the 455 probably had a different motherboard.

The software will be the same. I'm running AE on of the first shipped TriCaster 8000s (about a 3.5 year old system).
