    Plugin: Points to Cartesian coords?

Anybody know of a plugin that will let me take an array of x, y, z data and put a point at each?

I've got it in Excel, and I'd love to not have to type in 3 coordinates each of 118 points of data. I CAN do it, but I'd prefer not to have to.

    Thanks.

Yeah, it's called the GEO format from the pre-lightwave days of Videoscape. There's a geo loader plug in for modeler.... https://www.lightwave3d.com/assets/plugins/entry/geo/

ernpchan, that's the ticket! I was worried about spending time formatting the text files for the older plugin, but this was a no-brainer. Thanks for saving me lots of brainless time!

See my video tutorial how to read CSV:
    http://forums.newtek.com/showthread....video-tutorial

You can write CSV from Excel, OpenOffice or generate by script etc.

    Great plugins, ernpchan and sensei!

Do either of you remember my Real Stars script? Made it so long ago I wouldn't know how to create it again, but anyway, it basically did the same as your scripts... read a properly formatted CSV file from Excel of star coordinates and color temps compiled from two or three of the then current star catalogs (Hipparchus, Tycho II) and created a cloud of SSPs at a fraction of real-world scale (1 light-year = 1 km or whatever the user defined).
