    2014 Personal animation highlights - A year in review : )

    Hello,

As it was the end of the year, I thought I'd look through my render folders and see what I've been up to this last 12-18 months. It has seemed a really busy year and I've been working away on all sorts of things.

The sci-fi stuff is a personal project I am working on. The arch viz stuff that is in this vid is largely my work, though I didn't model/texture the buildings. I mainly deal with the environment and build animation sequences.
Not all of the shots are full quality renders and there are a couple of test shots/VPR renders in there...

Anyway, I just thought that rather than it rotting away on a hard drive and being forgotten, it'd be better to put it all together and share it instead So here it is, hope you like!

Seasons greetings and wishing you all a great year ahead!

    Kris

p.s. Oh and put it on 720p otherwise it looks a bit like it was made on a potatoe.

Very nice work. I liked the music too. I did not get the kind of funny feeling i expected from that kind of sound. It still sounded serious...to me at least.

Thank you for the kind words chaps! They warm my merry heart *hickup*

As for the music, I wrote that earlier this year, so I thought it fitting to put it in there too. Glad you liked it, and it is really interesting to hear what you felt about it. Barely anyone but my missus has heard any of my recent music, so when one escapes into the world you never know what anyone will think of it. From an artistic point of view, I personally feel far more exposed sharing my music than I do any of my visual stuff. I have absolutely zero idea how broad a range of people would actually like it, as it isn't exactly mainstream lol. In my experience, people generally judge music very quickly and like/reject certain types of sounds straight away. Taste and preference are strange animals, but with it being Christmas I thought what the hell! and used it as a backing for the edit.

If anyone who views the video and finds the music a bit offensive and/or crap, I do apologise and suggest the mute button
