RTMP URL as a network source.

I am trying to add a net input source with an RTMP url thats being generated by Brightcove and can't seem to get5 it to feed. Has anyone had experience doing this. For obvious reasons I don't want to put the URL here since it has the username and password in it.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Rusch, we use the Tricaster's RTMP input almost every day of the week. We haven't tried pulling a Brightcove RTMP but there is no reason why that wouldn't work.

After you configure the RTMP input source in your Network Input, then select it as a network source and then hit connect. Then give it a minute to make sure it works. If it doesn't, re-select it and re-connect a few times. You need to be patient and the buttons don't work in a totally logical way.

If you still have issues you could try pulling your Brightcove RTMP in to Wirecast 5 or Livestream Studio - both have similar functionality. You might be able to test your connectivity with a trial licence of Wirecast. You could also try pulling a YouTube or Daily Motion RTMP to confirm that works for you - if it does then drill down on the Brightcove syntax.

BTW, what we do is configure the RTMP source as a network input in to the Tricaster and also feed it in to Wirecast or Livestream Studio and make it available as a camera input to the Tricaster - that way there is a little bit of redundancy.

    regards, Scott

    Thanks Scott,

I am looking but I don't see a "connect" button to click. Am I in the correct area?

To bring this to top of the forum:
How rtmp url can be set as inout on tricaster 860 advanced ndi? I saw how it was done before switching on ndi and found onw poat about using vlc add-on but how about simple entering rtmp server address in order to get that feed in form of one of inputs? Without local servers, another pc streaming to tricaster or other not necessary devices between?

I know Kane know this but I guess there are also other specialists with the answer? Thank you.

On AE2 (or TC1 or IP Series) to get anything that isn't NDI into the system you will need to use another computer to convert that incoming IP format into NDI.
