    TriCaster SD- Video Input showing up Black and White

    Problem Description and Steps to Verify/Reproduce

    This article describes how to troubleshoot black and white video input on a TriCaster SD unit. Meaning: Tricaster Pro, TriCaster Studio, and Tricaster Broadcast.

    Steps to Fix / Workaround

    Check to make sure you have your video input connected to the proper inputs on the front of the TriCaster.

    Component cables should be connected as follows:
    Y = Green,
    Pb = Blue,
    Pr = Red
    Composite, unless otherwise marked “composite” use the Y input.
    S-Video is labeled Y/C

    If the video source is properly connected. Check the “Input Setup” tab under TriCaster “Live Production” tab.
    1. Click-on “Input Setup” (see image below)
    2. then click-on “Input” from the drop down menu, select the input you are experiencing the problem on. (see image below)
    3. To the right in the section labeled “Type”, select the video signal accordingly. (Ex: SDI, Component, Composite, or Y/C (S-Video))

    If you’re still experiencing problems, power the TriCaster off and re-seat the VT Card following the instructions in the article “Re-Seat VT Card”. If problems presist, contact Customer Support (1-800-862-7837).
