Thread: Corona Render engine

  1. #1

    Corona Render engine

Corona is a powerful unbiased CPU engine, which also has a progressive photonmap biased engine. The best of both worlds, pratically Kray + Maxwell in one.
It's very fast and powerful, it's becoming very used in arch and product viz, and it's FREE.
Please vote for LW port !

Octane is GPU, corona is CPU. Corona also features a progressive photonmap engine - Lray/Vray like - so it basically covers Maxell and Vray in one engine.

This is the same technology available in one of the new RenderMan/RIS integrators, the PxrVCM, that combines bidirectional path tracing with progressive photon mapping (also known as vertex merging). This one of the most advanced rendering technology available today

So anyway next year your are going to be able to test this kind of render technology inside LightWave

Gotta ask that question: with arnold renderer in Beta, renderman in alpha, do you think it's ok to start working on corona port? Time-wise?

Juan... Are you making your own render engine in your spare time maybe? Just kidding!

I'm wondering what else you have going on.

OK guys, here's pricing for Corona:

judge yourself. Then, hurry and write devs to pray for a Lw release. This is an occasion NOT-TO-MISS.
