HC!! Just realized Channel Modifiers can be *.ls's!! -- questions

Holy crap! Somehow this passed me by for 20 years: Channel Modifiers can be LScripts!!!

    SO, questions:
    1. Can PYTHON scripts be Channel Modifiers?
    2. Can Motion Modifiers be lscripts/pyscripts?

Yes and yes. My Springythingy plugin is an example of a ls motion modifier.

I'll grab it and take a look.

Mike, tell me please: when are motion modifiers evaluated/invoked? At every frame change?

(The goal is to make a MM version of Dan D.'s 'StaticChannel.ls'.)

Rats! Mike, I dl'd SpringyThingy but for some reason the *.ls wouldn't de-zip, even though the *.txt file dezipped fine.

    Could you check that please?

Meanwhile: are there any other uncompiled examples of lscript Motion Modifiers out there? (that is, source code)

What are you downloading it with? I know some browsers break zips, I think IE is one.

Have you checked if any come bundled with LW? I know they have examples as python scripts that are uncompiled. If the lscripts aren't uncompiled you could use the python ones as reference.

Firefox. It's pretty strange: "7z" uncompresses both the text file and the LWS file fine, but I get a stalled progress window and "Unsupported compression method of 'MGspring2IA.ls".

Per Bob Hood, there's currently only one native pyscript that is a motion modifier (Sol.py). I was hoping that examining MM lscripts might illuminate the process, so I'll have to hunt down more uncompiled ones-- rotten luck that the one most accessible is somehow unavailable. Grrrrrr.

Here's the script, rename it to .ls to run it. It's from the file I downloaded from my website and unpacked with windows own zip functions, so it works for me.
