Buying new is only $100 higher than normal price.

Don't they want the stuck in pre lw 11 license to be upgraded??
With bundles, the LW3DG sets the best price they can on the upgrade and the full seat based on the cost split going to the bundled product. In this case, the bundled product is a full seat of Octane Render, and that seat has the same cost whether as part of a full seat bundle or an upgrade bundle. My guess would be that the $995 price is at least pretty close to making the upgrade bundle into a loss leader at LW3D's expense, if not actually there. Just my guess, though. I am not in the know or speaking in an official capacity on this topic.

This. All sounds very cool, but exactly where is this going to be showcased? Is there a booth number we can look for? Thanks.

My understanding is that they are doing a "virtual booth" online. There is no physical booth to be found at Siggraph.

Oddly, I don't see any links for the showcases listed though. Since they provide times, you would assume that these are going to be streamed.

Do you have to register to win the copies of light wave?

If you go here, at the bottom they will link to each video at the corresponding time.

Yeah, the links in the PDF don't seem to work, but they work if you read it through ISSUU.

Content links are not available in the PDF version -- only the online flip-page version (where it says: Click to Read). Look for the blue bubble with link icons (when you roll over them) and they will get you where you need to go.

    Siggraph price
    $1595 new
    $995 upgrade

    There's some math error there.

    Rob Powers or anyone?
See if this makes the math any more pallatable.

    Normal price
    $1495 new (LW only)
    $695 upgrade (LW only)

    Siggraph Price
    $1595 with Octane2 (normally $586)
    $995 upgrade with Octane2

$995 split in half is $497.50. So you can call that $497.50 for LW and $497.50 for Octane. A discount on each.
You could call that $586 for Octane and $409 for the LW upgrade. (40% discount on LW.)
Or you could call it $695 for LW and Octane for $300. (48% discount on Octane.)

    Hope this helps.

OMG thanks, I didn't even know that was a different link, I thought that was the same link to the PDF one.
