I hope these things will be released later on youtube so that those who can't follow the live stream have access to what's been showcased. Among which tuts with William Vaughan.

That lightwave and octane bundle is a pretty good deal saving 500usd for the bundle. It could attract new users wanting to use a good gpu renderer with a low cost 3d animation package.

Shouldn't the price of the upgrade bundle be lower? I'm tempted to upgrade another lightwave license to get the octane bundle.

    Normal price
    $1495 new
    $695 upgrade

    Siggraph price
    $1595 new
    $995 upgrade

    There's some math error there.

    Rob Powers or anyone?

the regular price for the upgrade and the octance plugin would be 1281 dollar, so you save 286 dollars when you upgrade now.

but yes, i also thought the upgrade could have been a little bit cheaper compared to the fullversion bundel price

The $995 upgrade for Siggraph is significantly higher by $300 to the normal price.
Buying new is only $100 higher than normal price.

Don't they want the stuck in pre lw 11 license to be upgraded??

This is a great step by Newtek! The magazine is a fantastic step. For the first time in about a year on these forums I feel enthusiasm for the future of Lightwave and the associated software! Keep it up!

You want Octane if you need animated global illumination as Octane gives Lightwave a lot of muscle in that department (assuming you have a card in the ballpark of a 780TI or better).

If you intend to update Lightwave and need a boost in the rendering and lighting workflow it's hard not to recommend Octane.

Some nice reading indeed and very well presented by the LW3D Group. But I already own LW and don't need to be sold again, so where is my 11.7 info!!
