    SIGGRAPH 2014 - Vancouver

Would any fellow Lightwavers going this year be interested in a meetup? Or maybe there is one planned already? I've been using Lightwave since 2003 and this is my first SIGGRAPH. Figure it would be fun to talk shop. Maybe over some beers too? This place looks fun: http://steamworks.com/brew-pub

I could only go if someone is selling a secondhand TARDIS on Ebay.

I can't be bothered. Much the same as Newtek.

I'm thinking if there was going to be anything we would of heard something by now.

They did ask me if I wanted to contribute anything for their Lightwave magazine, which seems to only come out at these kind of events. But until I remembered that I was assuming there would be no show this year, and that V12 was a loooong way off, I'd be totally flabbergasted if they announced anything this year, I'd actually prefer them to take their sweet time working on 12, as long as it takes. Perhaps they'll be there in some limited capacity, handing out promotional material or something.

Somewhere at the 2014 Siggraph a hunched, bearded man shuffles along. In his right hand is a walking stick. In his left is a box called "Newtek". For hours he walks past the stalls - modo, Max, Rhino - and he gets more exasperated. Finally someone says to him "are you OK pal? Lookin' for somethin?"
"Just wanted to talk about old times. Toasters. Wanted to meet my buddies about Amiga and toasters".
"Sorry fella. Sure you haven't come to the wrong exhibit? You haven't got this place mixed up with the bakery show?"
"Nah. Nah. I'll be fine. There's always next year."

Then the old man shuffles away and mutters "IF there is a next year for my toasters...sigh"

This was the Newtek Lightwave booth when I attended Siggraph 2011 in Vancouver. I highly doubt they will have a booth this year but I would assume they will probably have some staff make the trip to mingle on the show floor.
