    Light Thru Glass

Is there a way to use soft shadows while projecting light thru glass? Seems like is only works for ray traced lights? If not, is there anyway to soften raytraced shadows within Lightwave?

Doesnīt it work with dome lights? 0.26-0,56 in angle value to match real sunlight, the higher the angle value is, more of occlusion light it will become and softer shadows, and at 0 it will be equal to the distant light with very sharp shadows.

My favorite light native to LW is the Area light. That gives you some great looking shadows. Not to discourage you from getting the DP lights though.

The only lights that aren't raytraced in LightWave now are the original Point, Spot and Distant. Since they all have raytraced equivalents (Point == Spherical, Spot == hmm, a lot of choice here, perhaps Area or IES, and Distant == Dome) it means you don't even need to go third party. Having said that, some of Denis lights are superb and faster/more flexible than the LightWave standards.
