    Genoma+Nevron Motion+BVH files tutorial

    Hello all,

since some guys here seemed to have some difficulties with bvh files, I made two tutorials on how I use genoma+nevron for bvh retargeting.
Please excuse the horrible French accent and also some artifacts due to bad weight mapping. I did the tutorials very quickly at the office to avoid the noise of my daughters.

Part one is about adjusting the rig in Modeler :

The second video is here, and about the retargeting with motion (especially with getsell function when needed) :

    Thanks for any feedback !

Thank you for finally providing a tutorial for those of us who animate for fun and do not have an overall command of the Lightwave functions. I now look forward to having some fun animating, perhaps Lino or his team could take a lead from your example.
    Again thank you very much.

I have not completely viewed yet - but what I have seen is wonderful.

CaptainMarlowe, thanks for the tutorials !
Un autre franšais utilisateur de NevronMotion ! On va pouvoir Úchanger des informations !

I'm currently waiting for my Kinect (maybe it will be tomorrow in my mailbox), and for now, I just play with the retargeting (I have tons of Truebones bvh files).

Hi guys. Sorry for not answering earlier, but I was on a professional trip. Thanks for your comments.
@Olivier D : il n'y a pas beaucoup de lightwavers franšais, ša fait toujours du bien de pouvoir Úchanger !

I will have to try that out as I was having the same problem. I exported a BVH file from Poser into lightwave and Nevron wouldn't retarget. I even checked out the prefix and changed that, but still didn't work. So I will try the manual alterations as in the video.

You're welcome. By the way, the videos are a bit out of date : I made them with the pre-release, and I hadn't used the final release until yesterday. I have noticed that IK now works great in BVH retargeting and is very very useful for overriding the original MOCAP and adjusting manually the legs and arms when necessary. This is really great. Here is a very rough test rendered in VPR with IK ON and some rough corrections on the feet and hands.
