Light Intensity with Noisy Channel between specified frames

Trying to animate the intensity of some lights and adding a bit of Noisy Chanel in the GE for variation. Doesn't look like theres a way to specify a time period to have it active. Any ideas for a quick alternative method?

There are several ways to do this. One would be add an noise channel to a null object and add the proximity plugin to the light intensity and use the Null as proximity item.

I forgot the fading out part. For that you can create a other Null and use that as the target (in the proximity plugin) and than you can use same as item to blend the to nulls together to fade out the effect.

Thanks, will try that approach when things have calmed down. I guess I could have also done this with some simple nodes! In the end I animated a null along the Z with a bit of wiggle JavaScript in AE, converted it to keyframes and sent it through to LW. Using Channel Follower on the intensity linked to the Z. Any changes I could do in AE and simply send through and changes would update automatically!

Down side, Channel Follower has a bug on the Mac. I had 16 lights so 16 nulls to reference. Channel Follower would keep forgetting the settings I was putting. My work around was to open the scene in a text editor and make the changes there. Pain. In. The. A......!

I made a little node setup that works. You could even automate the difference in flickering by feeding the light position into the turbulence noise node.
The 2 vector nodes are animated. One to fade the lights out completely and have them on without the effect and one to fade in the effect. You only need a to clone the null for every light.

Maybe someone could prod DStorm to make UB versions.
