    Speed Modeling Challenge #232 - Bird feeder/house

    Speed Modeling Challenge #232 - Bird feeder/house

    Rules:

1.Every week there will be a subject for you to model along with a time limit. You should spend no longer than the allocated time, then post a render of your model. As in most challenges like this, your honesty on modeling times is essential. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what is asked for.
2.Post a wire-frame and a render at 800x600 or larger. (For wireframe help go to: http://www.artssphere.com/plugins/polygoncoloring.php)
3.LightWave must be used for modeling. 3rd party Plug-ins are allowed.
4.You can enter as many times as you like, posting each in this thread. If you run over the time, the model can still be posted but won't be subject to the judging.
5.Time spent on texturing, setting up a scene for a render and rendering is not included in the allocated period.
6.The winner is judged by the challenge starter and the prize is to set up the challenge after next week's.

Tree[d] and ivy_generator used to create the tree. Used up like 15 mins in modeler and around an hour in layout and gimp :-)
Forgot to unpremultiply alpha after the first render (>20 mins) so I had to rerender again to comp it on the background.. doh!

Cute topic XSwampyX! I might try my own bird feeder if time allows.

Really boring wires... The seedcage is made of negative thickness two point polys, and the seeds were instanced inside.
Hoping for all the other entries to drop in now, before the deadline :-)
I like the catbirdfeeder! It's funny. Maybe more bird-scaring than mammal proof, but wth

Just back in town. Let me see what i can whip up.

I guess all the bird lovers are over in this thread posting pictures rather than modeling.
System Specs: A pile of sand, a couple of wires, a real live mouse and a beer.

I have voted!! And I must say I might have to change software packages.

Just messing around here.... Two speed challenges collide: "Fantastic Planet" and "Bird House".
Heck, Pinkus needed a home... and it looks like he has found himself a Mrs. Pinkus.
But wait, maybe Pinkus is the she and Mr. Pinkus is inside. Whatever works.

Either way, my favorite part is the nest "fibers" poking through the cracks.
