    Audio macros

I'm using an 8000, and I'm curious if anyone is out there using macros to control audio. I've set up a simple solution on the keyboard to control audio, for a second operator to help me, but I'd love to hear about the workflows anyone else might have?

Also, before we upgraded to the most recent revision, I was able to set up an on/off macro in a single macro. It worked as a toggle. But after updating, I now have to have two macros for each audio source, one for ON, one for OFF. Was this intentional?

We are unable to utilize any ipad apps due to their need for wireless connectivity. For security purposes, our network is physical wires only.

If you have a second operator for audio I would recommend taking a look at either an Avid Artist Mix interface or the MIDI Doll mixer control application for TriCaster audio control. Both will allow you to adjust most of the audio features of a TriCaster via another interface. MIDI Doll Remote does have a trial version that you can download and test it out. They both can work over wired Ethernet so you don't have to deal with wireless.

We actually have the Avid surface, but it's non-functional currently.. and engineering is unable to get it up and running, so I'm trying to simplify a non-surface workaround.

    long story short:

    8000 takes a crap and errors out (I posted about it here-> http://forums.newtek.com/showthread....-errors-TC8000 )
    Support suggests factory restore
Since the restore, the Avid surface drivers will not work.

    Jon,

Is Bonjour installed on the 8000? If not it should be.

Jon? I assume you mean me lol

I am unfamiliar with Bonjour. A quick search leads me to believe that it is airplay related?

It's Apple protocol to allow network services to discover each other over a LAN. You can download the Windows version here (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL999), even thought it says it is for printing, it is for anything that needs Bonjour.

So would that allow the ipad and audio app to be used over a wired network?

You don't need Bonjour for the iPad Audio Mixer app as far as I'm aware.

Not sure what you are asking about iPad on the wired network, iPads are only wireless.

I'm confused then. I'm very unfamiliar with Apple stuffs.

Why would I want bonjour installed on my 8000?

It sounds like Avid is using Bonjour for the Avid Artist Mix unit.
