Drive too Slow - Disk error

    Hi

    Bad day with the Tricaster

This was its first real outing since being repaired; I connected four 1080i cameras in a 1080i project and set up 4 iso records (2 on the internal D drive an 2 on the swappable E drive)

The PGM mix had a record error (drive too slow) flash up every 20 mins and is massively out of sync with dropped frames

Camera 3 and 4 (on drive D and E) just recorded 10 seconds off black - but did still show in the PGM mix

Not feeling a lot of love for this TriCaster 450 just over a year old

    Any ideas

    Cheers
    Jamie

I know the feeling and sympathize with you... What kind of drives do you have? The drives need to be enterprise drives! So-called green drives will not work. Also NO external USB drives should be hooked up, only eSata.

BTW Seagate has introduced a new line of video drives. I'm planning on checking them out soon.

Another tip - Drop down to administrator mode and select "Defragment all drives". This will defragment both the TriCaster systems drive and the recording drives. If you've had it for over a year then it's highly likely the drive will have become fragmented and needs a defrag.

Make sure that you are running the latest build from the downloads section at reg.newtek.com. I believe this error will go away after installing the latest build.

Zane - this didn't solve the problem for me. Jamie I feel your pain mate and have been through this a few times. My unit has just been returned to me to solve this issue and I will have fingers crossed over the next week !
