Where are you going to edit next?

With NewTek not updating SpeedEDIT or remaining very quiet about it and SpeedEDIT not working on my windows 8 laptop, I've been sleeping around with Adobe Premiere and have a CRUSH on HitFilm 2 Ultimate....You probably all know about premiere but lookup HitFilm and download the trial...especialy if you like particle F/x and 3D objects in your timeline! - Shawn

I got free copies of Sony Vegas Pro 12 and New Blue Titler Pro 1 with my camcorder (Sony EA 50) purchase. I've been working with the software for a week on my Win 7 laptop, learning from the wealth of on-line tutorials, but struggling with a manual that absolutely sucks. Although Vegas is a powerful program, I still prefer the speed and simplicity of SE. I wish NewTek would realize what a treasure they have and upgrade it. Well, with XP's funeral slated for next April, later this afternoon I'll be upgrading my VT5 workstation to Win 7 so I can install my copy of Vegas there (Sony allows us to install the software on two computers).

I very much enjoy using Adobe Premiere Pro, but their move to licensing only will eventually cause me to hop onboard with Vegas or Hitfilm. Hitfilm gained my respect when Sony added it to their premium package.

I totally agree, if SpeedEDIT worked on my new PC I would continue to use it, it's my editor of choice but I am slowly being pushed to change...

Seems to be $150 for the slim version and $400 for the full effect version.
It implies that you should have Vegas Pro to supplement it's abilities.

I wonder if HitFilm will work with NewTek SpeedHQ files?
