Down payment on car or LW 11?

I haven't had a car since September 2012, I have LW 9.6.1, and enough money for good down payment on a cheap car or an upgrade to LW 11. What should I do!!!!

If you don't need the car I say don't get one. Car insurance, gas, maintenance... It gets old quick.

I need the car, I can get insurance for $1 a day. I might even get a motorcycle, but I am missing out on 11!!!

    I agree!

I think if one is tossing up between these 2, then one doesn't have enough funds for ongoing car expenses. I'm lucky & don't have to use the car & can walk for all regular needs. It still costs a lot every year just to keep a car registered. Save the money so you can buy the car outright with cash. Insurance & everything etc is cheaper.

Also if you are debating whether or not you need to upgrade LW, then I suggest that you really don't need to do this either!

Save the money for a few months till you can answer your own question.

I doubt women dig cars that have a downpayment of $695.

I think that the car will break down faster than LW11.5.

Your car will lose value very quickly. Lightwave 11.5 with its new feature opens up a lot more work opportunities, so you can earn more money and then buy a car. And while you are waiting, you can build car in Lightwave 11.5 with those nice new modeller tools.

Do you live in a city with a good, integrated public transportation system? If not, I would be hard pressed to recommend not getting a car. Today marks one week that I just got another car. My other broke in December. I lost 4 hours each day on the bus.

JonW has good points. It is expensive to keep a car. So unless you're sure you have money for tag, registration (which my state nearly doubled 2 years ago), payments if you're not outright buying, and saving for maintenance/repairs, it may not be worth starting the process.

Nothing wrong with public transportation, it is cheaper and also good for the environment

The downside is that most of the U.S doesn't have good public transportation... something I hope to see change in the future.

I assumed 695 was part of a slightly bigger sum of money. 695 for downpayment would get what kind of car???
