A new build of the LWtoA beta plugin is going to be released next week for LightWave 11.6 and 2015 (Windows and OSX). The plugin code has been updated to support the latest Arnold 4.2.3.1 core.

If you want to try it, send an email to [email protected]

A big thank, Juanjo, for the quick implementation.
And good to hear that you can support both in the future.

I sent you some suggestions about improvements via Email that I also wrote to Marcos.
Wow...this is a REALLY nice render. Do you have anything other than a still-frame using SSS? Is there any crawling / artifacts? I would love to see this in motion, rotating or something like that. Thanks for sharing!

Is solid angle ever going to get rid of the 5 license minimum requirement? It seems that's going to hold off a lot of LW users from adding it to their pipelines. Unless that requirement changes I will probably be buying Vray for modo instead.

yup, they will lift the minimum soon they said.

"For permanent license sales there is a minimum order of 5. We will soon lift this restriction."

But how soon will this be? I thought I heard the same thing more than one year ago and still the restriction.... lingers.

I think soon means within 1-2 years. Anyway it's written on their purchase page so I guess they are serious about it changing.

If you want to buy single licenses, write to Solid Angle (you can tell them that you want to use the licenses with LWtoA) ... I think that currently it is easy that SA will agree to sell individual licenses.

    Hi Juan,

It seems that Solid Angle has provided some trial version for Maya and Softimage. Is there any way we can have a trial as well?
Like, can we download the Maya trial and connect to your LWtoA trial version or something like that.

I am itching to test to see whether moving to Arnold make any kind of sense for me....
