well, I'm over & late again.
The idea was to make use of that door.... and get a Bender/Quato (Total Recall) thing going.
Big difference between 60 and 90 minutes huh?
This is what I've got, and it's still over. Might take another extra 5 minutes and rough the little guy up a bit.
Samoht....
Teeth: you could put the teeth on a different layer in the object, then in Layout click render lines in Object Properties panel.
Box from cylinder: You could just have a box intersect the cylinder. Or, if you want it to be connected geometry....
1) grab the polys around the cylinder where your box would intersect and multishift or smoothshift out and then wrestle the out outside corners back in......
OR 2) (what I would do) select the same polys hit "e" and then move the new polys straight out in the direction you want.
Either way, you will still have a curved "front". So with just those polys selected use "h" and stretch them flat.
AKA........ I've missed you too!
Edit: forgot to mention .... on the teeth.... on that new layer run polygon coloring plug, and in layout under edges check "surface borders" box

meh....... akaraquel can I borrow an appendage??!!
Although, it's so absurd I'm making myself laugh......

LMAOOOO! :O At first, i was going to say "Yeah sure Dr.JP! Here's the whole crappy scene with missing-textures-because-i-was-hasty-with-saving, if you want!" ...but then i realised, you had it covered so remarkably well, it was virtually ...INVISIBLE!
Thank you so much for your time with the technique run-down + animated gif
Joe Poe, Kuzey - ripper work![]()
Thanks JoePoe couldn't have answered it any better. Nice render as well.
Plush bender also looks sick.
I love these challenges, hurry up and be over week so we can do another.
He may look sick (he's a mutant after all) but he's very very wise!!
Only did a quick "Quato-ization".... should look sicker. But you're right, now he looks..... diseased.
(not a good combination with the double entendre flying around)
The real Quato.....
akaracquel..... thanks for sharing geometry! That's.... um..... something!!
Seems, though, now he needs a new name. Bender doesn't quite fit anymore.
(okay. I'm done. Apologies to all)
Not too diseased JoePoe. If the Quatro part isn't connected to the Bender geometry with all those neat quads on the inside, a dog could still happily play fetch with it in Layout.
> thanks for sharing geometry! That's.... um..... something!!
Nothing more than the equivalent of a client saying "it's only going to be a two minute job" ..but you can deliver it in 2 seconds and still meet the deadline, Sir!![]()
> Seems, though, now he needs a new name.
Agree. The name which echoed in my brain sounded a bit like what happens to the dubstep grandma who has eargasms.
Thanks for the gags, it's made my whole working week, very uplifting!
<runs away and hides under a doona again>
The results :-
Stevmjon - Great way to kick off.Nice proportions to the model and great render. Appreciate the second one. Good job.
Akaracquel - Ermm.... Nice flow to the model, not many wasted polys there. Can't seem to make out some of the model details in the render because of the purple leaves? Hold on... you can just make it out in the reflections.... argggg! nooooo!
The Dommo - Doesn't count but still a nice model, love the render. It could have come from the actual cartoon.
Samoht VII - Mini bender (1) - Love the pose, look like he's just smashed a window or something. Hard to make out the wires, but looks good.
Kuzey - Mini bender (2) - Great model as always, Just love looking at them wires. Great character in the final render. He's mean!
JoePoe - Over & late. Good modelling and proportions there, Nice idea in the final render as well.
Well I'm so glad everyone approached this in a different way, it made the judging easier. Some very good ideas/models. But one model stands out... And that model was made by this weeks winner, Kuzey. Well done.
Well done everyone. You made me laugh with your models. (in a good way!)
Cheers!
congrats kuzey. your render is awsome.
