Exclamation Speed Modelling Challenge #168 – Electric Mobility

Speed Modelling Challenge #168 – Electric Mobility
    *************************************************

    Rules:

    1. Every week there will be a subject for you to model along with a time limit. You should spend no longer than the allocated time, then post a render of your model. As in most challenges like this, your honesty on modeling times is essential. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what is asked for.
    2. Post a wire-frame and a render at 800x600 or larger.
    3. LightWave must be used for modeling. 3rd party Plug ins are allowed.
    4. You can enter as many times as you like, posting each in this thread. If you run over the time, the model can still be posted but won't be subject to the judging.
    5. Time spent on texturing, setting up a scene for a render and rendering is not included in the allocated period.
    6. The winner is judged by the challenge starter and the prize is to set up the challenge after next week's .
    *************************************************

This week's topic is: Electric Mobility - There's more and more of these things coming out. So lets have some cool designs, ultra modern or retro, an existing design or some concept design. Must be electric and have at least one wheel. I have allowed 90 mins, so take your time.

    Time limit: 90min.
    Deadline: Wed. 25th April 2012. 22:00 G.M.T.

As is my wont I shall rule myself out for being over, it was a fairly close call but with all the ****ing interruptions I couldn't accurately keep track of time so for the sake of being fair I'll opt out.

Another rather lazy render I'm afraid.

Sentenced to 310 years for crimes against modelling and rendering.

Oedo 808: That's a beautiful job of modeling. The detail is very impressive. I don't think I would attempt to drive it.

First: I'm disqualified 15 minutes over:

Tractor for the disabled. Didn't get the plow done behind the tractor. The front axle assembly is one big "extender Plus and Stretch" mesh. So the tires look like crap. Always next time.

This model took me 80 minutes, so just under the time limit. Wish I could have done more details but just wasn't enough time. Anyways I present to you the "IT" now with Flexi Grip Technology as featured on Southpark.

Still beats what you have to go through at the airports right?

The Kobot! A Japanese concept unveiled at last years Tokyo Motor Show.

I got less than half of it done in the time limit so the geometry of the seat area is all just place holders.

    Good stuff so far!

This is what I've got @ 90 min mark....
    no bars
    no drive train
and not too thrilled with the foot pegs (started to really rush at that point)

hmmmm, not sure if I'll continue....

Well, I was at the limit above....

went ahead and added the bars, a kickstand, and the lower part of frame in back.
Left the drive train to the "electrical imagination".

And spent just a couple minutes tightening....
