    VPR infinite refresh

    Hi fellow Lightwavers,

My VPR keeps on refreshing so I can only see large squares.
If I click on a dropdown menu, like light type or view, and leave it open my VPR does render.
Does anyone have a cure for this or had this problem?

Some time ago, I had a similar issue, but I found that it was due to an older version of a Denis Pontonnier plugin I was using. It cleared up once I downloaded the updated version.

So, the next question is, are you using any plugins with our scene? In either case, you may be able to identify what's going on by process of elimination. Then there's the old "erase your config files" argument.

    Just food for thought...

    Thanks for your response.
I am using one plugin, being Houdini's Ocean Toolkit. Once I get back home I will try elimination.
Thing is, if that's what causing this, there probably won't be a solution, because I cant do my scene without that plugin.

Let's not forget your original concern, though --- the effect on VPR. If it is the plugin, perhaps it only affects VPR, and will render OK using F9 or F10.

You could try turning down the VPR fps setting in the VPR settings.

You might get a bit of a speed up by turning off surface previews or setting them to Manual in the Surface and Node editors.
