..... and, thanks so much for the nice comments.
Since I was overtime I didn't post a wireframe, but now I'm thinking what the hey - (ya'll seem to like the little guy)... and it'll give the challenge a last minute bump up.
The great thing about math... I may have been a full 50% over the time allotment, but I only need to improve by 33% to get it in on time!!
Probiner - your avatar is freakin' me out. Now when I see your name I think "Probe In Air".![]()
Tick tock.... Tick Tock ...... Barrrrrrppp!
Times up!
Some great entries again, well done everyone.
akaracquel - Beatle. Well the brief said 'have fun' and you certainly did and a great one to start off with. Good modelling for what's an intricate design. My favourite render, It made me smile.
akaracquel - Beetle. The modern classic with a retro design. Fits in beautifully with the previous model. Could do with some more edge loops and a couple of bridged polys to bring the mesh together. The hand gesture is perfect.
MDSPECIFIC - RHINO beetle. Hey that's my avatar! Great modelling again, love the leathery texture on the armour.
JoePoe - Micro Machine Beetle? Pretty cool design. You could drive, walk and fly to work in that. No wires and over time so disqualified.
JoePoe - Green bug. Thanks for posting the wires. They look great! Well worth the extra 50%. Nice render/texturing as well. Great job.
probiner - Humblebug. The only one modelled with wings, Good wires, was he made with splines? Love the antenna and his cute little face.
Iain - Beetlered. Nice one, Love the feet and the little nodules on his head, very efficient modelling. He looks a bit sad.
And the winner is......
Iain- For beetlered - Great detailing on the model.
Cheers!
Congrats Iain.
@swampy: Pictrix Bezier.
Ah cool, thank you
I wouldn't have stood a chance if all the entries were under time!
Great standard of modelling throughout.
Congrats Iain![]()
CongratulationsIain!!
see everyone on the next one.
(got my fingers crossed for a five hour time limit..... just kidding!)
Congrats Iain!!!
XswampyX, I didn't know that.
JoePoe, really nice bug!
probiner, your new avatar is fantastic!
Hi there all you buggersand Xswampy..
I noticed that the latest Lw 11 version has an improved carpaint with iridescence, wavelength and thickness so color changes with viewing angle as seen on soapbubbles and sea shells and bugs.
check latest LW addendum and carpaint.
You could otherwise use high value of refraction dispersion as Xswampy has shown here on some images.
