Hi this is just a motion graphics test, I wasn't going to post this in here but I saw the HUGO logo so I said I will share this project,
It's all done in Lightwave no AE

the background objects was done using FX_linker and those were just circles, the volumitric lighting is created using two spot lights up and buttom, and I have used procedural textures to generate the smoke look, each letter is seperated into different layer and manually animated though keyframes between 1 and 100, motion blur was used and depth of feild.

    Looks cool!
I'm trying to remember what FX_Linker does? It's been too long...

Was that in camera DOF or added as a post effect?

It's great you liked it guys, I will post the motion video when I get to use my job PC the project is stored there,

I'm trying to remember what FX_Linker does? It's been too long...
Thanks to my pal at twitter, Phil Nolan he helped me understand FX_Linker, FX_linker is simply a tool that replaces your particle emitter particles with geometry object modeled in modeler, however it's a one way shot with no undo, that's why keep saving your projects before trying to apply FX_Linker,

Was that in camera DOF or added as a post effect?
All animation and effects was done in LightWave I didn't use After Effects, the DOF is a Camera DOF, and I used the interactive DOF feature to find it, hit ALT+F9 and search for "interctive Depth of Field" assign a keyboard shortcut enable it, and enable DOF in your camera and play with the parameters to get the desired look and feel, One thing to point about Motion Blur the type is "Photoreal" and Blur Length is increased form 50 to 100.

Fantastic, I hope the animation is as good, it will be a fantastic showpiece if it is. This is the stuff that gets me excited about upgrading to Lightwave 11.

Lurrrrvly piece of work... amazing how sexy some letters can be!

LW11 should make this FX Linker stuff much easier... instancing is a god-send!

Another +1 to see the animation!
