Thread: Cornelius robot

    Cornelius robot

This is a new series I just finished. I created these for an art show called project sketchbook. It's basically an open gallery showing where they send you a small sketchbook and you fill it with art, send it back, and they display them all in a showing one weekend.

Anyway, I made this little character and put him in some really simple environments. I wanted to focus on color and composition. They were fun to make. Any comments welcome.

These are great little pieces. I could see these as illustrations in a childrens book. Or even as a set of framed pieces hung in a childs room or childrens library.

I love this... lovely colors, textures, compositing, everything.
    Very cute character.

@otacon - How much you used post processing with these and what kind?
I would like to see RAW render and post processed one.

Mostly these kind of modeling and rendering is not my preferred style...but these are great images I liked them very much. The robot could have his own series .

Here's a closeup comparison shot of the straight render and the final. I use the dodge/burn tool a lot to add highlights and imperfections. Adjusting curves tweaks the colors a bit to make them pop. I also add a texture layer on top to give it some noise. It's just a concrete image, and the layer blending mode is set to soft light.
