Speed Modelling Challenge #146 – Car exterior & interior

Speed Modelling Challenge #146 – Car exterior & interior
    *************************************************
    Rules:

    1. Every week there will be a subject for you to model along with a time limit. You should spend no longer than the allocated time, then post a render of your model. As in most challenges like this, your honesty on modeling times is essential. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what is asked for.
    2. Post a wire-frame and a render at 800x600 or larger.
    3. LightWave must be used for modeling. 3rd party Plug ins are allowed.
    4. You can enter as many times as you like, posting each in this thread. If you run over the time, the model can still be posted but won't be subject to the judging.
    5. Time spent on texturing, setting up a scene for a render and rendering is not included in the allocated period.
    *************************************************

This week's topic is: Car exterior & interior

You can model everything you see outside and inside of a car (excluding parts like those under the hood, motor, pumps, spark plug ...)
Whatever you want: car logo brand, headlights, stop lights, spoilers, car wheel, windshield wipers, tires, doors, opening handles, or something like steering wheel, dashboard, gear stick, sound system board, speakers, car computer/gps displays, seats, interior lights case, inside door handles etc. I think you get me.

    I wish you great fun!

    Time Limit - 90 minutes.

    Deadline: Wed. 16th November 2011. 22:00 G.M.T.

The decidedly odd steering wheel from one of my all-time favourite cars, the Citreon DS. 20 minutes modelling.
The French truly understand that beauty is complemented by a smattering of ugliness.

Heh, nice detailing there Iain. How many poly is that?

Not a big Citroen fan, they have funny suspension.

Attempting to do an entire car in 90 minutes was an interesting experience of absolute terror for me ..but I had a lot of fun trying! Have a great weekend everyone

I'm just trying to think of how you did what you did.

I just made the main object as a Toroid centered on 0,0,0 then made a little one, placed it and arrayed it (900 times!) around the big one.
    Easy! 165000 polys!

Its fine on its own but I won't use it in a busy scene

I have been eager to get back to modeling but life has gotten in the way. Had some time last night and figured I'd use it here.

I have never seen a Foot Print Gas pedal in person. And honestly the only time I have ever heard of it was in the movie Joe dirt. So I looked up some reference pics and this is what I came up with. Not sure how long it took me, was just fun to model. Enjoy!

OK, so this may be considered too simple for you guys but here is an old MoonEyes fuel tank. We use to use these on dune buggies. About 45 minutes modeling (most of that trying to get the $%^# cap to look right). And 10 minutes surfacing.
