Thread: Tricaster Files & Adobe Premiere CS5/Windows 64 Bit

Question Tricaster Files & Adobe Premiere CS5/Windows 64 Bit

    Hello everyone.

I hate to be a pest but I cannot find anything definitive on this topic so I thought I would post up.

We have a ton of Tricaster MPEG 2 files from an event and want to edit them (we need to chop them up into smaller videos as well as do some compilations/montage/trailers).

I downloaded the Codec Pack (Codecs6030_allin1.exe) and they work great on a 32 bit system, however, all the editing we are doing is on 64 Bit Windows 7 Enterprise machines running Adobe CS5 64 Bit (Adobe Premiere).

I have not found anything to support 64 Bit systems but I cannot imagine I am the only one that has this issue.

Would you mind pointing me in the right direction?

    Thanks much.

The codec pack supports only 32Bit at the moment.

If you have a TCXD300 or a TCXD850 you could copy the driver files to the Adobe machine because the new TCs are 64Bit.

If it is allowed (please Newtek tell me if it's not allowed) I can even send you the files.

Our codec pack does not include an MPEG2 decoder. The files that TriCaster records are standard MPEG2files so all you need is an MPEG2 decoder.

    Ah - Zane is right.

I was a little tired - I thought you ment the SpeedHQ codec pack.

You should be able to open any TC file in Premiere CS5 without any additional codec install.

Interesting... I will pass the information along to the team.

I cannot imagine why they would have trouble with it if that is the case but I have seen the boo boo files so something is amiss.

Is it a 300 or an 850? If a 300, what version software are you running?
