I am still stuck in a project, but I share the feeling of Cageman's last post and I thank Denis, of course, but also Marvin and Michael and all of you testing this amazing tool. The very last enhancements makes my interest in it bigger and bigger. Great job, great community

Denns, fantastic work here. I still can't believe that all your tools are for free. Amazing! Obviously I need to make a shoutout to Marvin L and Michael Wolf as well for their continued support for LW and supporting this particular plugin. Very cool!

Finaly, I just wanted to make a shoutout to all those who have been testing this plugin. I havn't had the time nor the project where this tool would have been a good candidate, so it is very pleasing for me to see so many others devoting time in testing this... the whole community will benefit from your work on this, I'm sure.

So, again, thanks Dennis for your continued support, and thanks to all others involved.

    Cheers!

(I realise that this doesn't contribute anything usefull to the actual testing of DP_Instance, but I felt that I needed to contribute in some way... I hope you guys don't mind!).

    +1 on Cageman's post.

Denis codes faster than we work...that's frightening...in a good way.

DP Instance has been updated to version 1.6, win32 yet,
Dissolve effect was not correct with transparency.

Instances distributed on an object with animated displacements are now
correctly updated without delay, for both preview and sequence render.

Added a DP Instance Pixel Filter, for overwriting normal Alpha channel
with an Opacity Channel of the instances only, including transparency
(without the dissolve effect), it works with the Perspective camera.
This is a 'half solution' since it is not possible to mix internally the
normal alpha of the scene (without instance) and instance alpha,
they could be rendered separately and mixed together later, using
    a "Screen" Blending mode.

Thanks for update Denis it's very good and stable update .

Question about speed. Is there maybe a room for more speed optimizations? I'm trying to render 150 000 instances (grass field) and on Quad core 2.4GHz (Q6600) 640*320 resolution (no AA) is taking 90 minutes while that same scene without instances (just ground polys/lighting/environment) takes 2 minutes .

    cheers

That seems long to me. What's your setup? Instancing blades of grass is a bad idea, you should make a big clump of grass, as big as you can, then instance that.

I'm having 30*30 cm grass "patch" and instancing that not single blade .

No there's no room for more speed yet,
and you know exactly what I mean..

just so that everybody knows it Dennis is making even more fixes than those that you read around this thread. I had one problem with DP Instance a couple of weeks ago and he released a new version in a day and a half or so. Itīs not the last one, that was the 1.54 release.

I think itīs great that we are all using this wonderful tool and testing it to find the bugs, and even more wonderful that Dennis listens and tries to fix our probs.

EDIT: plus I donīt know whoīs compiling the 64-bits version, but thatīs also a great job, whoever you are
