    Live Effects on Studio/Broadcast?

I was wondering if either the studio or broadcast could do live effects on select cameras such as Olde Film, Skip Frames, Serpia Tone, etc?

Or would all of this have to be done post prod?

    Thanks
    Jon

Well, you could do sepia with the proc amp, and a few other things in a similar vein, but no (actually, we try really hard to make sure it doesn't skip frames). I'm not sure how often live fx would really be useful, but you raise an interesting point.

I'm thinking in the realm of a live concert. A nice live crowd shot made to look like a strobe light in a dark room would/could add a bit of a modernized feel seen mostly in post production.

Or an overlay of the antique reel to reel effect could be used on an overhead shot of the drums during a solo (or not!).

    Anyway, it was a thought.

    The Video Toaster Had That

I go way back with Newtek to the Amiga Toaster 2000.

It had that live old film effect overlay. Find one on Ebay.
