Keep all the tools, i do use them all at one time or another. As for consolidating i would suggest similar tools such as all the stair tools on one palette with a drop down selection tab to open the various different types. This would help keep the menus tidier.

By the way the new Beta rocks, all problems i had with beta 4 on the Mac have vanished and the new additions to stairs and other tools are great. Quite a lot of my wish-list was fulfilled with this release.

One item on my wish-list, a vertibevel style of bevelling polygons. I don't know if this is possible but it would really up the modelling capabilities in LWCad, even though they are already stellar.

Thanks Viktor for this update and all your hard work.

I use almost all your tools, except DXF stuff.

I would really like to see a rope/chain tool. I will keep asking for it .

    Thank you all for feedback!
I will just list ideas from previous comments I like.

    These tools can be merged:
Circle and Ellipse into a single tool
Fillet and Chamfer into a single tool
Box and Box 3P into a single tool
Rect and Rect 3P into a single tool

Hot tip for remove is Analyze Curves tool because almost nobody use it.
But I'll move that functionality into "cur to poly" tool.

group similar and rarely used tools on one palette with a drop down selection tab

I like also an idea of multifunction Polyline tool.
Chain-rope tools are already in my todo list, just be patient
Modify internal LW shortcuts - I am sorry no, or not now
Blocks - I'll try do something with it.

Thank you for all these inputs, and I am keen to hear more opinions

I agree. This could also be done with the 4 Clone tools, the 2 Roof tools and maybe Roads, Road Lines and CrossWalk. Possibly tabs would be a better choice for tools like Roof and Roads instead of drop downs. Another merge candidate could be the Make Triple/Quad/Convex/Ngon tool.

Not shure why Pline is named like that, the tool looks more like a knife to me.

    Thanks for the good work!

Please No! The Analyze Curves tool is very important on it's own for when we are creating new shapes to add to the libraries. We create profile shapes from existing cad drawings and so many times small gaps are present that cannot be detected without using the Analyze Curves Tool! This is vitally important to us to be able to continue to create new shapes with closed curves and the Analyze Curves tool is quickest method to identify and fix those open curves!

Is anyone else experiencing crashes with the Stair and Line Stair tools??

If I click the Stair button I immediately get a "Custom operation failed - Cannot load external plug-in file ...\lwcad3.p" even though I've added the beta plugin(s) several times, the presets and deleted and recreated the tabs.

Perhaps I should delete the config files?

The Line stairs works except when I create the platforms and attempt to size a platform so it's "even" with the stairs. If the platform is wider than the stairs it works but once I attempt to size it back to match the preceeding steps, it crashes.

Not sure what other things may not be working right yet.

    This is Win7 32-bit.

What?! No, no! I use it all the time! As Snosrap says, it's invaluable when you have to deal with CAD-imported shapes which look closed but really are not.

There's nothing I would want removed; I use each and every one of LWCAD tools on an almost daily basis... well, except maybe "Nail". Don't think I've ever touched that one :P

I'm gonna be answering more later, but one thing I always run into that bugs me if the Snap window width being resized, can anything be done to keep it the same width?

I love all of LWCAD's tools, the only thing I've been requesting repeatedly is arbitrary profiles for the Pipe command.

I often create ducts in addition to pipes - being able to select a 2d shape as input for the pipe command would be a great boon for me!

I believe however from looking at some of the latest videos, I may be able to sweep the profile shape using a curve (I have yet to try that)??

Still, I like the interactive GUI that Pipe has, being able to select an arbitrary profile curve for the shape would be really nice...

Using the wall tool in 2d geometry mode the boolean function no longer trims the intersecting walls, as it has in previous versions.

    Has anyone else noticed this.
I have deleted the old config files, but it hasn't made a difference.
    This is on a 32-bit win7 install.

Ok , I see most of users don't want to remove any tool.
Then Analyze tool will be untouched.
similar tools on one palette with a drop down selection tab - I'll use it for all similar tools.
Will if you have crashes, uninstall completely, check twice and install a fresh version. If still problem, then use support please!
Pipe with profiles - ok I will think about it.
Wall 2D not intersecting - I'll fix it, thanks
Layout tools - you have to wait until core for this.

    ----------------------------------------------------------
So I'll make a summary of possible reductions:
    ----------------------------------------------------------
Circle and Ellipse into a single tool
Fillet and Chamfer into a single tool
Box and Box 3P into a single tool
Rectangle and Rect 3P into a single tool

group similar and rarely used tools on one palette with a drop down selection tab:
    Polygon Convert tools,Stair tools,roof tools,infrastructure tools,etc ...

please let me know more comments on reductions .....

Viktor- perhaps another way of phrasing possible changes could be:

What would be possible workflow tweaks?

Are any of the tools inefficient or could they work better in repetitive situations?

Which tools do you use together?

Ie stamp out existing redundancies and inefficiencies ..

    3.6 is looking good.

Hopefully NT promote LWCAD at siggraph!
