I realize this is a dead thread, but it's a fun question.

Funny...from time to time I turn that on as well ..when fiddling with graphics love it..it is epic.

Otherwise a mish mash of, hans zimmer "light" from the thin red line...so atmospheric and inspiring.
Some alexander desplat with themes from benjamin button.
Some Wagner, tristan and isolde, parsifal act 1 prelude
    Eliott goldenthal "titus" finale
Brian Eno a lot of atmospheric ambient music there
    Peter gabriel, birdy, security.

    Mostly instrumental.

Mostly symphonic metal (Nightwish, Within Temptation and such), sometimes industrial music and when I'm bored, classical music.

    I can't believe I haven't commented...

While working, I tend to have something quiet in the background, usually SiriusXM's Spa or Watercolors channel.

If I'm toodling around, playing with things, then it's a whole 'nother ball game. Two Step from Hell, Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Early Yoko Kanno, Archived Carl Stalling (Looney Tunes and Merry Melodys music), Orbital, Juno Reactor, Classical and Early music... My collection is vast. Sometimes, I'll have something related to whatever personal project I'm working on (Last two : Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096, and... My Little Pony : Friendship is Magic (someone on Youtube stripped out the dialog for the first few seasons)).

For *true* creative inspiration, the infinite precision of these great artists can't be beat:

You really need to watch the FULL 4 minute masterpiece to get the full impact!

Actually, I don't listen to anything when I work / play with LW.

I'm sure the full impact arrives considerably before then, but ...

I generally don't listen to anythjing while doing most graphics activities either. Interferes with the "other" voices.

When cooking on the other hand, I like to just put the playlist into random. Different part of the creativity cluster I guess.

Huh..unfortunately my patience doesnīt last even one minute..and canīt survive a whole 4 minutes with that kind of discord "music"
If I get a mental breakdown and need to throw paint with my bare hands and feets on a wall to create a chaotic masterpiece, it may work...but I am not there yet.

Most Vangelis harmony tunes is more of my tune when getting in to the mood to be creative.

Cosmos theme is also great, but then again, Vangelis has so many themes that are awesome that I just canīt list them all.
