    Object ID

    I know other packages have this kind of feature in some way. Does LW have the option to do an object ID pass or anything similar?

    Yes, using the PSD Saver found in the Image Filters (Effects > Processing)

    CTRL F8 will bring it up. But it's under the 'Windows' popup menu on the main interface.

    ? ctrl f8 brings up the vertex maps window? Is that what I'm looking for?

    You're in Modeler. The Image Filters window is in Layout.
