    cresshead,
The story board approach you've employed is great. Its what you need. You had mentioned about your limited drawing skills, well for the story board what you have done is communicate clearly and concisely your intent.

Great job. As for in on a DSI, wow, what a great piece of software.

    Hi Cresshead,

Cool use of the DS! BTW, have you tried the new Colors! 1.1 yet? It's been out for a few weeks but I've been busy working on our next short film, and I haven't had a chance to try it yet. I'm getting itchy to load it up though; I'm seeing a lot of wonderful new art at the Colors! gallery.

Somewhat related: a month or so ago, I bought ToonBoom Storyboard (the standard edition was on sale for $99,) and I used it to storyboard the Brudders film we're working on. You can see the animatic version of the first act by going to www.gothtober.com and clicking on the 31st. At first I found the program a little frustrating to draw with but the organization and layout features make it worth using. After a day of playing around with it, I was able to adapt to drawing with the somewhat limited tools, and now I really like using it. When we post our production log next week, I'll include a .pdf file of the Act I storyboards.

Anyway, please keep up this fun project. I'm looking forward to watching how it develops.

Really awesome characters! That Alien is top notch, especially. Are you just doing busts right now and finishing their bodies later or will you do the rest of them now too?
Why is an elephant big, grey, and wrinkly?
Because if he was small, white, and round he'd be an aspirin.

I just checked out colors 1.1. so far it's looking pretty sweet.

The color/brush picker screen is different, but mostly just a different way of selecting brush settings.

There's a new brush type so now it has solid, feathered, and brush bristles.

    There's a last-stroke undo feature.

There's a connection to the gallery right in the app. I can't test it without changing the security settings in my router.

There's also an export feature (3 preset sizes) that saves a png on the flash card. Unfortunately, my computer can't read this .png.

hi yeh i'm just trying to get the cast together and look like they are all from the same world [the humans]..i'm spending around an hour per head..sometimes a bit longer as i always struggle with eyes!

so heads first to get ticked off the list
    then...the bodies/clothing
    then environments and transport!

    so more heads tonight!

once i have the heads/bodies sculpted is the PAIN of retopology time! YUK!
