I am currently running VT5 under 64Bit Windows 7 without any problems. Remember that if you want to use Lightwave to build virtual sets for it, you'll need to install the 32Bit version of Lightwave - not the 64Bit version. (The plugin isn't compatible).

    Good Luck,

Correlating VT patches/upgrades with the .exe files

What is the build number for VT5v53Update.exe?

    What version is 080923?

5.3 broke my tally light config, check out this thread on how to reconfigure them.

That's clearly from 2008, Sept. 23, info that's implicit in the build number.

My first guess would be that it's identical to VT[5] version 5.2b which was posted to the downloads area just a week later, on 10-01-2008.

If not, it's the original VT[5] ver. 5.2, which likely, shouldn't be used.

If you look in the about menu the bottom right corner static product id starts out with 100209.

    Oh yeah. That makes sense.

So,then, what is the logical route to upgrade to the latest version from 080923?

You would have to do all the updates from 5.2b to c d and then 5.3

Was there an intermediary build between 080923 and VTv52bUpdate?

During the VTv52bUpdate installation, I get a "Setup" message that says, "Please install a previous version of VT[5].

    What version would that be?

Is it a .NET Framework issue? TH
Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:1.1.4322.2443; ASP.NET Version:1.1.4322.2443

It may well, be, since v5.3 will update any version of VT[5].

Log into support.newtek.com and click on the "my downloads" link. A link to download VT[5] version 5.3 should appear under the VT[5] heading, if you are a registered VT[5] owner.

Really pleased there is a VT5 but some of us might need to make VT4 last a little longer (me in particular) so could I ask Newtek to support VT4 by providing a Windows 7 driver for the card, so it can be used with speed edit. I had them running together on XP but I have now upgraded to Windows 7.
Take my advice I'm not using it
