Speed Modeling Challenge #74 Photographic Studio

Speed Modeling Challenge #74 Photographic Studio
    *************************************************
    Rules:

    1. Every week there will be a subject for you to model along with a time limit. You should spend no longer than the allocated time, then post a render of your model. As in most challenges like this, your honesty on modelling times is essential. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what is asked for.
    2. Post a render of your model (min 800x600 pixels) in this thread with a wireframe.
    3. LightWave should be used for modelling. 3rd party Plug ins are allowed.
    4. You can enter as many times as you like, posting each in this thread. If you run over the time, the model can still be posted but won't be subject to the judging.
    5. Time spent on texturing, setting up a scene for a render and rendering is not included in the allocated period.

**Please mention whether or not you would be happy to share the model.**

    Time Limit - 90 minutes.

Deadline - Wednesday 24th of Feb. 2010 - 2200 hrs GMT (with an optional one week extension upon request...which would make the new deadline - Wednesday 4th of March 2010 - 2200 hrs GMT)

    Heh. That was the inspiration.

    No and yes.
You can fxlink a light, with lens flare active, to the particles. This would get you what you want.

Alternately, you could use Corona on the particles, using an image of a flare. Might have to do it in post.

    Or, use Pixie Dust.

ZERO experience with this kind of stuff. I have only my Canon 350D and 2 lenses that I don't use enough compared to the price I paid .

Looks like I'll have to google a lot for ideas.

Hmm i liked it the old way ! 2 weeks is a bit much , generally when you have goal you reach for it , if it's 2 weeks away you will just keep putting it off , untill you have an hour left ... which defeats the purpose (",)

I was thinking if we have some great models, we might get preset central to host the files in the one place...make a new section for preset studio items/objects....Ben....Matt??

But it's still early days yet...just thought I get the idea out there

Did you just model a complete camera within 90 mins? Damn, I'm a poor modeler

Nice model and all in sub-D!
