Near Future Planetary Exploration Craft - Odyssey

Well, I've never really got involved much here, I tend to hang out over at Foundation3d, but I've recently started showing one of my WIPs on some other forums and I thought I may as well show it here as well.

So here is the latest work I have done on my model, the 'Odyssey'...

If you've seen the BBC / Discovery Channel show Space Odyssey: Voyage to the Planets then you should see that my design is heavily based on the ship from that show, The Pegasus.

The Earth in the background is only a low res environment map to help with the GI and reflections.

If you are interested in the history of this project the full WIP is here.

I really like this and it is great work in progress. Are you going to use texture maps to add more detail?

    Keep up the good work.

I'm not going to go overboard with texture maps, but there will be a few. I'm still a ways off that point at the moment.

    Some updates...

    A small update...

Finished off the top (and bottom since its symmetrical) of the white module by making some little tanks.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel at last, modelling the reactor is nearly finished.

Been working on this one again...

The start of the main truss, the white module in the middle will eventually be some sort of RCS system with mini rockets sticking out of it.
