Speed Modeling Challenge #50 - Fire...
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Rules:

1: Every week there will be a subject for you to model along with a time limit. You should spend no longer than the allocated time, then post a render of your model. As in most challenges like this, your honesty on modelling times is essential.
How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what is asked for.

2: Post a render of your model (min 800x600 pixels) in this thread with a wireframe.

3: LightWave should be used for modelling. 3rd party Plug ins are allowed.

4: You can enter as many times as you like, posting each in this thread. If you run over the time, the model can still be posted but won't be subject to the judging.

5: Time spent on texturing, setting up a scene for a render and rendering is not included in the allocated period.

**Please mention whether or not you would be happy to share the model.**

Can be just something that makes fire. Fire not necessary, necessarily.

Because it doesn't need to be animated you can just map an image of a flame to a poly that faces the camera, a bit of Luminosity, Transparency and maybe glow then it will be near enough

    Into The Fire

About 45 min modeling, I somehow managed to double up a couple of rows around the top glass tube, but they were not in exactly the same place.
It took a while to fix.

Yes, how do those doubled up poly problems start? Drives me crazy sometimes.

Nice materials and render. Reminds me of those posters from the 80s with a slick car and a wine bottle and a lady part.

For me that problem usually happens when I copy and paste, sometimes I paste twice
that can usually be fixed quickly with a merge points and unify polygons, but only if they share the exact same place

This thing makes fire... of a cartoony sort.

    9x timelapse here.

45 minutes or so modeling. About 5 minutes rendering.

    Oh, my reference image here:

I missed some of the details. The tail spikes and the belly ridges and whatever those things are sticking up from the head.

Yeah, having trouble for some reason. It worked when I previewed, anyway. Try this:
