There's one attribute you simply can't learn from a business education, and that's personableness. I believe it's a rare commodity in the art world to have that mix of business acumen and...
Cheers for that - I was just being nosey as your name has been in the LW scene for ages!!
Hi JCE - in Layout go to your Render Globals panel, and choose the Render tab. In there, near the bottom, you need to tick on Limit Dynamic Range. That might sort it
What have you moved to?
Thanks for that - bookmarked!!
Is it the fact that the preview window now opens on the right, but the thumbnails for the search on the left jiggle around as they have less rows once the preview is open, so the mind loses the...
No - that was the weird thing. Only planar quads extruded from one n-gon for each plastic profile. The n-gons (at each end of the extrusions) were physically separated, so they didn't influence the...
Yep - the LEAF animation class I attended. He was very inspirational, and so modest, I recall.
For legacy reasons, this project is using 2015.3. For some reason, I am getting missing image that doesn't correspond to geometry at all. If I move the door (it's in a separate layer), then the...
You know, I believe I was at the same festival. Was it the mid 90s?
Sad news, but he had a good innings and a great legacy.
Oh go on then. A really old model, pre sub-D patching, so all spline curves.
Cheers
Just wow! Thanks!!
Which is kind of where it came from, ironically :D
Exciting times. No need to panic - even if the worst came to the worst (which I don't think likely), we've all got several years to learn something new.
If Mr Cross is listening, there are two...
If they turn to real-time rendering, I'll be chuffed to bits! It's the future.
Great work
How'd you create the reflections of the guys walking across the reflective path at the memorial - the distant shot?
Zsolt did a crab on a beach a while ago - looked like a great texture map plus instancing. Looks great to me:

Thanks for the replies chaps - I've added it to my 'look at this next time you have some spare time' list :D
Is the Unreal Bridge route something a small studio with no prior experience can make use of? I'm definitely interested in this, but wouldn't want to plough a lot of time on a route that proves too...
Hi all - it's probably something I'm doing, but I have a LW2019.0.1 scene, objects are all BSDF surfaces, 5% roughness, 70% specular. The ground plane has a transparency fall off over a few meters...
Found my answer on the LWCAD forum - should've looked harder before posting here, but incase there are other muppets who stumble through life with their eyes half-shut, here's the answer:
You need...
I've a quick question about this. I've got LWCAD 2018 installed in LW2018 okay, but when I run the LWCAD 2018.1 installer, it isn't finding my installation of LW2019.0.1 - anyone any ideas?
Thanks Denis
