    I have had this same problem with some VOB files,...

    I have had this same problem with some VOB files, and not with others. I could never fix the problem and ended up using tmpgenc to convert the vobs to SpeedHQ.

    Yea I render video to Huffyuv and audio to a .wav and pull them into Virtual Dub to do H.264. It's an extra step but Huffy renders faster than real time and is lossless.
