Originally, Rosetta was used to run Power PC applications on Intel based Macs when Apple transitioned to more conventional processors.
The new M1 Macs are a transition AWAY from Intel and onto...
Fair point. I downloaded the demo of LW2020, and got it done in 2:27 on the M1.
Then just to quadruple check, reloaded into 2019 and re-rendered and it finished after another 27 minutes.

I am currently rendering this on an M1 Mac mini 16GB Ram. I downloaded the scene and dropped it on the desktop.
I opened LW 2019.1.5 and opened the scene in the folder (no HDRI image, no plugins)....
I am just glad it runs. Waiting on my M1 now.
Yep. I know. And the lack of talk about Metal has me doubting the development in that direction.
I was genuinely excited when I saw the email. Then I didn't see anything about "what's new." Then I saw why.
Layout 2020 released!
Modeler 2020 has been out since 2002. :(.
Unless there...

Safari was in the background, but not super loaded up. That's probably indicative of normal.
Lightwave should absolutely look into this - as an example of what NOT to do. Lightwave for iPad OS makes more sense.
The optimist believes the world is as good as it can be. The pessimist is afraid it is. Optimistic people live longer, statistically speaking.
The air is completely breathable. I am breathing...
There are some forums that probably need to be retired in some way or another.
There are other ways to edit a PDF. The default Mac preview app will do it.
And I fixed it!
Uninstalled LW2019 (everything).
Reinstalled LW2019.
Added LWCAD from LAYOUT instead of Modeler.
Everything works. I cannot fathom why this would make the least bit of...
Well, I have long griped about the lack of changes to Modeler. Now I have the most significant change to Modeler since LW6: LWCAD isn't working.
I've added uninstalling and reinstalling...
Thanks for the response.
I haven’t tried that, but the plugins are not showing under the “additional” menu to run without using the branches. This is part of them not working, I think. That said,...
I'm not posting under support because I do not believe this to be a Lightwave bug, at least not in the normal sense.
I installed LW2019, and registered it. - on macOS Mojave running on a Early...
I would like to see more improvements to WHATEVER modeler Newtek would like us to use. Its like Layout 2019, Modeler 6.5. If I keep having to go over to brand X to model high poly objects or...
All kinds of reasons. That is not to say that there aren't all kinds of reasons to make some other choice (masochists need computers too!).
FCPX is really fast at what it does and insanely easy...
Sorry to see anyone go.
People have been swearing Apple is ditching their desktop OS 'in the next couple of years' since the iPod fist shipped. They DID just update their file system. They also...
looks around for the installer option for "-aw c'mon now. I just got my plugins and congifgs set up how I like"
Thans for all the improvements though :)
Alright, a quick step by step for anyone having trouble on the Mac.
Once you download you LW2018, open a finder window and click on downloads so you can see the Lightwave_2018.0_OSX_installer icon....
Hit command and space, type terminal.
but it should still work on a clean install of MacOS.
Also, someone said it worked with Stuffit 15, but not the latest version?
Did you try enabling noise filtering? It is supposedly vastly improved.
If it works, it might well becomes Newtek's best selling product ever!
